2011 BMW X6 M

The X6 M is a high-performance variant of BMW's controversial head-turning crossover. Unveiled at the New York Auto Show in 2009, the X6 M uses a potent version of BMW's twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8. Output is pegged at 555 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and peak torque is 501 pound-feet, available between 1,500 and 5,650 rpm. The car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, according to the automaker. Although traction control is standard, the M Dynamic Mode (MDM) greatly reduces the aggressiveness of the system. The MDM setting allows the driver to enter a controlled drift and push the vehicle's handling to the limit. There's also a DSC-Off Mode for drivers seeking a more purist experience.

2011 BMW 3-Series Convertible (328i, 335i)

The latest E92 BMW 3-Series was first introduced in 2007, and now features a very fresh facelift and engine changes -- including the introduction of the new, range-topping 335is Convertible. The E92 3-Series convertible is BMW's first model with a retractable hardtop. The only variation between the 328i and 335i models is in the power plant. 2011 BMW M3 CONVERTIBLE

The high-performance drop-top follows in the footsteps of the new M3 Coupe and M3 Sedan. Like its solid-roof counterparts, the Convertible is powered by a 4.0 liter V8 producing 420 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The drop-top's main competitors are the Audi RS4 Convertible and the Mercedes CLK 63 AMG.
BMW is also using the convertible to debut its seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch transmission. The seven-speed system promises shifting as smooth as a conventional automatic and faster than a manual gearbox or SMG transmission. Of course, customers can still opt for a regular six-speed manual.
