2011 BMW M3 Sedan

Fasten your seat belt and get ready for the breathtaking BMW M3 Sedan. Its V8 high-rev engine serves up 420 hp and is mated to a chassis that has mastered the ultimate test: the Nürburgring's legendary Nordschleife. What's more, it continues the BMW M tradition of racing technology for everyday driving, delivering Formula M thrills in four-door, five-seater form.

One look at the BMW M3 Sedan reveals all: here is a perfect blend of sports car and sedan. That muscular front end with its large air vents and prominent powerdome. The wind tunnel-honed exterior mirrors. The four chromed tailpipes and wider rear track. It's an exterior that promises exhilarating performance - combined with four-door practicality.

The BMW M3 Sedan is as special inside as out. Its cockpit has a true sports car feel, but combined with high ergonomic comfort and fine design. From the leather-trimmed M multifunction steering wheel with stitching in M colours to the special M sports seats or the Titanium Shadow interior trim, every detail reflects the exclusivity and sporting pedigree that define BMW M.

A performance car that brings racing technology to the road, yet has ample space for all occupants? That's the BMW M3 Sedan. Its spacious four-door cabin ensures even rear seat passengers can travel in comfort, while the generous 450 litres of luggage space enhances its everyday usability even further. All that practicality doesn't disguise its true nature however - that of a thoroughbred sports car.

The V8 high-rev engine in the BMW M3 Sedan.

Power all the way to the redline - the BMW M3 Sedan's V8 high-rev engine has genuine race-car character. Every component has been carefully optimised to maximise output and engine speed. The result? 309 kW (420 hp), up to 8,300 rpm, and 400 Nm of torque at 3,900 rpm. And that's not all: the individual throttle butterflies and engine management system ensure the engine responds rapidly to driver inputs, translating every touch of the right pedal into instant acceleration.

Innovative lightweight construction
in the BMW M3 Sedan.

Innovative lightweight construction improves longitudinal and lateral dynamics. That's why the BMW M3 Sedan has lightweight materials in key areas such as the bumpers and drivetrain. As a result, the new V8 engine weighs 15 kg less than its six-cylinder predecessor. As well as reducing weight, we've lowered the centre of gravity and stiffened the chassis, making for even greater agility and stability.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) on the
BMW M3 Sedan.

The DSC system prevents loss of roadholding in extreme situations. When activated, it stops the vehicle from veering off track by applying the brakes to those wheels which keep it on course. Together with the M Dynamic Mode, DSC gives your sports ambitions free rein as drive slip for both longitudinal and transverse dynamics increases at all speed levels. And the optional Electronic Damper Control system, with three different settings, is perfectly matched to the BMW M3 Sedan to provide an unbridled driving experience.

M Dynamic Mode on the BMW M3 Sedan.

Activating the M Dynamic Mode and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) gives your sports ambitions free rein. Drive slip for both longitudinal and lateral dynamics increases at all speed levels because DSC does not instantly intervene in the automobile's motion. This does not impact on safety, however: it is just a means to increase driving pleasure.

M sports seats in the BMW M3 Sedan.

The seats in the BMW M3 Sedan combine the best in comfort and sportiness. This has been achieved by using a special cushioning material that's exclusive to M sports seats. Soft leather, an optimised ergonomic design and prominent side bolsters also contribute to the high level of comfort. The electric seat settings for the seat back angle, seat height, and lateral position are saved in the memory function to ensure a glove-like fit in any driving situation. And for additional stability when cornering, the width of the backrest can also be individually adjusted (optional).

BMW Assist.

BMW Assist puts you in control of your travel plans. Up-to-date traffic information, congestion reports and alternative route suggestions can be called up at the press of a button, plus information about hotels, restaurants and other useful addresses. These can be entered directly in the navigation system. Its automatic emergency call feature and breakdown assistance request, including vehicle location data, enhances your safety.

2010 BMW M6 CONVERTIBLE

The BMW M6 convertible offers top-down motoring with the same exceptional performance and handling of the M6 coupe. Power comes from BMW's 500 horsepower V10 engine developed for F1 racing, and the convertible is equipped with the high-tech suspension and performance modifications of the M6 coupe, as well as the same extensive list of 21st century automotive innovations as available on the other 6-Series models.
At 4400 pounds, the M6 isn't as svelte as some of its competitors, but the high-revving engine is more than capable of moving that much weight in a spirited manner, with zero to sixty times in the low five second range and electronically limited top speed well beyond what can be achieved on a track. On the other hand, gas mileage in the V10 is rated at only 11 mpg city and 17 highway.

M Drive

M Drive - your preferred driving program at the touch of a button. With M Drive, all control systems and vehicle response modes can be combined freely using iDrive, and immediately activated using the M Drive button on the steering wheel.

M Drive transforms a comfortable touring car into a high-performance racing machine with the press of a button. It immediately activates your pre-determined preferences: DSC can be put into M Dynamic mode, the Head-Up Display can be changed to show M-specific information, the active seats can move from "Comfort" to "Sport" position, and in the BMW M5 Sedan, M5 Touring, BMW M6 Coupé and M6 Convertible, M Drive can change the settings of electronic engine management to P500 Sport and put SMG Drivelogic into sports mode.
Using iDrive, you configure your personal preferences for the vehicle's control systems and response modes, and once defined, a single press of the M Drive button is all that's needed to activate them all.
M Drive can control: The Digital Motor Electronics (DME): three different programmes for engine output and responsiveness. SMG Drivelogic: six different manual gearshift programmes (Sequential mode) or five automatic gearshift modes (Drive mode) (specially for the BMW M5 Sedan, M5 Touring, BMW M6 Coupé and M6 Convertible).

BMW X5 M

Like the X6 M, BMW's X5 M features a high-output V8 under its hood. But unlike the X6, this Autobahn cruiser has a decidedly traditional SUV shape. Priced from $85,400, this performance SAV significantly undercuts the X5 M's nearest rival, the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, which is $5,000 more expensive.
Slightly more conventional than its X6 M sibling, the X5 M offers the same utility as the regular X5, with the addition of a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 delivering 555 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and peak torque is 501 pound-feet, available between 1,500 and 5,650 rpm. The crossover can sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, according to the automaker.
Interior options are what would be expected from a true luxury maker such as BMW, and include an interior much more like BMW's 7-series sedans than a sport-utility. Second row seating is spacious, but the third-row seats are best left to the children. Climate and audio can be controlled independently, as well as by that iDrive single-knob computer-screen system (standard on both models) which has been the object of much criticism, but does make the navigation system easy to operate.
Also note that the iDrive system (4th generation) received substantial overhauling for the latest model year -- intended to improve user friendliness. The new iDrive system features new graphics, controls, improved menu structures, more functions and more intuitive function.
A lengthy list of options and features includes steering-linked headlamps, multi-adjustable front seats, satellite navigation, rear seat entertainment system, back-up camera, full-roof sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, driver's seat massage, front and rear climate zones and more.

BMW X6 (xDrive35i, xDrive50i)

Based very closely on the popular X6 Concept, BMW launched the X6 coupe-crossover for the 2009 model year, calling it a "Sport Activity Coupe." Along with the wild exterior comes an all-new twin-turbo V8 that will find its way into other new BMWs in the coming years.

BMW is the first automaker to bring such an SUV to market, although other automakers are said to be planning similar coupe-like utility vehicles. Land Rover, for example, recently unveiled its LRX coupe-crossover concept.

Compared with the concept, very little has changed. In fact, you'll have a hard time noticing any differences at all. The only obvious design tweak was made to the crossover's side windows. On the concept, the B- and C-pillars are not visible, but on the production car they clearly divide up the glass.

Even the X6's complex front fender design made it to production. Each front quarter panel surrounds the entire headlamp, creating a very seamless appearance. The X6's aggressive front fascia is also carried over from the concept, with its large air intakes and stylish fog lamps.
